This is well as you can see Subin's 1st digital single, it only has 3 songs in it but it's all nice....(youtube : 사랑은 봄처럼 )


8eight who got their name from the infinity sign (turn the"8" side ways and you get the sign) has lots of nice songs in their latest album as well....(youtube : Without a heart by 8eight)


I don't know what her name is but well the album is called memory, she sings ballads and has a good voice...up and coming artist...keep a look out for her....(youtube : Paradise by memory)


There's Lena Park too with quite a decent amount of good songs in her album, unfortunately I don't have her album photo....

Pretty ain't she...some might recognise her from SNSD (otherwise Girl's Generation) and some might have seen her before in "you are my destiny" which was aired on KBS (for people who have Astro)

Short Film

This is a short film called "Sydney in Love" introduced by Yong Xin...it's korean, doesn't have subtitles but just by watching it you'll get what it means...the song is really nice(it's an english song)

Treat your waitresses nicer and with a smile

Some people might remember me telling them about the thingy with my favourite restaurant and the waitress, you know the extra rice when I told her I was hungry thingy...yup....it happened again just a different waitress this time....

So I was on my way to uni around lunch time and had to grab something to eat....guess where and what popped into my mind ==) Jajang myuen (Korean food) at my fav restaurant!!!!!
Headed along the ever busy and familiar Liverpool Street, down the small alley where it is located....had a growing anticipation for the food and also to see if anything has changed at the place, but to my delight nothing has, not the setting, not a single wine bottle out of place and those comfy cushions all still there!!!

The first thought was if the "sajang-nim" (boss) is in or not, 2nd was if the waitress is still the same one ( cause they usually change after around 3 months ).... I would soon find out as i step into the restaurant finding the boss' usual seat empty, the next was the waitress behind the counter....
She was talking to one of the cooks when i stepped into the restaurant, with a vision partially blocked she said her usual greeting (annyong*something* not the word "hi = annyong haseyo" but "welcome" )

The waitress was about to come out from behind the counter to pass me the menu when she leaned back to peer out from behind the counter for the 2nd time, taking another look at me again....This time her eyes flickered with recognition, said something to the cook about me, which I do not understand and was kinda surprised but greeted me with a more familiar friendly smile, maybe it was because I haven't been there for a long time or because my hair is curly now...lol

When the kimchi dishes came, I noticed a new extra plate which I've never seen before...it was in slices, yellow in colour and looked like something sold in a dried fruit store ( ok I don know what I am blabbing about but it's different alright ==P ) I didn't dwell on whether it was purposely given by her or just an extra dish they are serving.....

Another thing was the Jajang myuen...my goodness it was like 3 large packets of laksa or maybe more in one bowl....my stomach felt suddenly full, but I finished it anyway cause it's nice and not good to waste...hehe....before I actually finished my noodles she took out two small round thing on a plate for me, I was surprised as I did not order anything else (it was plums) and I thought to myself, wow now they are serving fruits for dessert...hahaha.....till I saw the other 3 tables and noticed they have one less kimchi dish and NO plums (saw her giving plums to her friends that came to look for her, plums might be her own, not from the restaurant)....making me suspect that she even added more noodles for me...lol

See...what did I tell you, treat the waitresses nicer, have a familiar place you go to, and you'll definitely get something out of it ==D Even if it's only for this time, I am happy, enough to make my day....I didn't forget to thank her and asked her to say hi to the boss for me before i left... ==D

==( my favourite couple on "We Got Married" ( a reality show featuring celebs as married couples ) is leaving in a few weeks time.....It was fun watching them together, those precious moments and memories....Though this might just be a show but i hope they are really together in reality....

There's been positive news surrounding them, and Xin if you are reading, the part where they were taking wedding pictures an insider said they were quite intimate even when the camera wasn't rolling, plus lots of the scenes were cut off for whatever reason.... ( I do have a photo of them that weren't shown though ==D)

Mr. Mosquito is back!!!!

For those of you who are wondering who this is, its Kim Jong Gook one of my favourite korean artists. He got his nickname mosquito from his voice, it's kinda weird but in a unique nice way, lol at least i like it. His songs are more to the ballad, slow romantic heart warming kind. Recently,he came out from military service, and has released a new album!!!!

One of, if not my favourite group(a korean one)...EPIK HIGH!!!

This is the group that kinda got me into korean music....the first song i heard from them was "fan" (the video is a little eerie but cool) and "fly" which is one of the tracks in FIFA 07...
It's a group of 3 consisting Tablo (the leader of the group, the one in the middle), Mithra Jin(on the right), and DJ Tukutz(the left)...

They have a very catchy tune, they rap really well but still do slow songs too and collaborate with lots of other singers...

She sings this extremely nice, full of emotions in her every word.........her pronunciation isn't the best but it's because of that it makes it sound even nicer....there's the romanji version of the song if you click on more info...

Lesson 1

All about the basics. Korean words are formed out of consonants and vowels. It is a rule that all words are formed by ( consonant + vowel or consonant +vowel + consonant).

Here are the consonants :

ㅂ = pronounced as "b/p" (used more often as b, cause, see the one below)
ㅍ = pronounced as "p"
ㅁ = pronounced as "m"
ㄱ = this is pronounced as "g/k" usually its read as "g" though like many korean surnames 김, people pronounces it as kim but its actually gim
ㅋ = pronounced as "k" (therefore this is the "official" "k")
ㅈ = pronounced as "j"
ㅊ = pronounced as "ch" (it's nearly the same as the one on top but you have to be very accurate and at the "h" in it and make sound more like "chimney", compared to the top where it would sound like "jam")
ㄴ = pronounced as "n"
ㅌ = pronounced as "t"
ㄷ = pronounced as "d"
ㅇ = like english has it's silent k, this is silent, but it put below (eg. 공 [gong] , in this word, ㅇis pronounced as "ng")
ㄹ = pronounced as "l"
ㅅ = pronounced as "sh" the "h" is a soft one but not silent, so pronounce the "h" but don't stress it
ㅎ = pronounced "h"


These are the vowels :

ㅜ = pronounced as "woo more like oo"
ㅠ = pronounced as "you"
ㅗ = pronounced as "oh" would sound like "u" to us chinese...
ㅛ = pronounced as "yo"
ㅓ = pronounced as "a" it sound more like the "a" in "ball"
ㅕ = pronounced as "ya" the "a" here has to sound like the one above
ㅏ = pronounced as "ah"
ㅑ = pronounced as "ya" with the "a sounding like "ah"
ㅡ = pronounced as "eu"
ㅣ = pronounced as "ee" this to us in pin yin is more like "i", "tee" would sound like"ti"to us chinese

So, basically korean words are formed out of these. There'll be more complicated ones but this would be it for the first lesson.
Now, for some words...try looking at the characters above and combining them to pronounce the words....I'll add the "pin yin" behind so you would not unconciously look at it ==D

나비 - butterfly (na bee)
사자 - lion (sa ja)
우유 - milk (woo you)
조 - cow (joh)
개구리 - frog (gae goo lee) *i know i did not add ㅐabove but its basically combination of ㅏ
and ㅣ making it sound like "ae" so add a ㄱ and it becomes"gae"
어머니 - mother (o mo ni) * u sometimes hear them say "o mu ni" but well this is da proper one
아 버지 - father (ah bo ji)
아기 - baby (ah gee)
어린이 - child/children (o lee nee) *well when u first see this it looks like 린(leen) 이(ee) but if
you pronounce it fast it'll sound like"o lee nee" in fact if you
try to spell it by listening to the word u might spell it as 어
리니 but its just the nature of the word it is something like the silent"k" for knife, if you were to spell it by listening to it you'll probably go"nife" but why do we add a"k"?cause we just know, same like koreans know where to put their words.

호주 - australia (hoh joo)
시드니 - sydney (see dun nee) *interesting fact, as you know korean words are made out of consonants and vowels, that is why when they pronounce words like sydney in english, they go"syd*e*ney"
코알라 - koala (koh al la) * you probably would have guessed the word already ==P
종국 - china (jung goog)
대한민국 - republic of korea (dae han min goog) *korea is actually han goog, but they still use"dae han min goog" when they are cheering for their team, you might have heard it during korea's match in the world cup
한국어 - korean language (han goog o)
한국인 - korean people (han goog in)
음식 - food (eum shig) *remember soft, short "h"
문화 - culture (moon hwa) *ㅗ plus ㅏ =ㅘ (this you pronounce as "wa"
공부 - study (gong boo)

The ones below are verbs, though they are written that way, they are not usually said that way...I'll explain more with the examples...

가다 - go (ka da) 가means go while 다 is usually added after the word to signify or to show that
it is a verb, people usually go"가"(go)or"가자"(lets go). I do not know why yet
but more will be explained in my next lesson, so bear with me ==P
오가 - come (oh da)
자가 - sleep ( ja da)
먹가 - eat (mog da)
지내가 - stay (jee nae da)
고맙가 - thank (goh mab da)
